Science (Zoology)

  • Zoology is the branch of science that studies animals, from all the flying things in the air to all that move upon the earth. Students will research and discuss different creatures and then create word processing documents or Powerpoint projects to demonstrate their learning.
  • Zoology classes include..

    • Discovering new creatures each week
    • Habitats and biomes
    • Identifying and classifying
    • What makes each animal unique
    • Using microscopes
    • Research our own animal and teach it to the class
    • Create PowerPoint Presentations ansd/or Fact Sheets
    • Design and build habitat dioramas
    • Create posters

    Semester 2 will be up close under the microscope – Insects All Around Us! Who are they, what are they and what can they teach us!

    Some form of technology (iPad/tablet/laptop) with required apps installed is a must for this class.

    Students will demonstrate their learning this semester on stage at the Presentation Afternoon through the use of PowerPoint Presentations.

  • Teacher: Sarah-Ann Nicholson-Holden

    Classes will be taught by Sarah-Ann Nicholson-Holden from Rainbow Productions. Sarah-Ann is our head teacher bringing with her over 30 years experience teaching all ages and abilities from Primary to TAFE level. She is currently homeschooling two of her three boys aged 12 & 14, while her 15 year old is now successfully studying at TAFE. Sarah-Ann teaches a range of different classes at both venues and is passionate about all her students and assisting them to succeed in whatever they set their mind to! Sarah has a natural bent to bring out the best in all her students!
