Tech Drawing & CAD

  • In Tech Drawing, students use drafting boards with T-squares and set squares and explore technical drawing techniques while making a beautiful piece of art to keep.
    Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) will learn the basics of Tech Drawing, then follow onto Draftsight CAD software on their laptop!

    • Shading technique
    • Compass technique
    • Isometric views
    • Aestheometry
    • Linear perspective
    • Op & Illusion art.

    Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) will complete similar projects using Draftsight (free CAD software) – Students must have own laptop with Draftsight installed. Draftsight software can be downloaded here.

    Additional costs: Purchasing an A3 Display Folder is recommended to keep completed work in.

    All students completed work will be laminated and made into a poster to be displayed on the wall at the Presentation Afternoon for this semester.

    Dates for 2019 Presentation Afternoons are:

    • Semester 1: Mid Year – Tuesday/Friday Afternoon 2nd/5th July
    • Semester 2: Final – Saturday 7th December

    Classes will be taught by Kirsty Brokenshire who is a qualified Civil Engineering Draftsperson, gained when hand drawing was in style! She has successfully completed courses in AutoCad and Microstation, ready to go back into the workforce, prior to homeschooling her 3 children through their highschool years and onto TAFE.
