Science (Human Biology)

  • Students will learn about their bodies, food & nutrition and healthy living as well as producing disgusting science experiments along the way! Come along and explore the insides of ourselves…the Good, the Bad and the Ugly!
  • Classes will include such things as…

    • Exploring DNA
    • Exploring the 11 systems of the human body
    • Making edible body parts like hearts, bones, spine & skin 
    • Disgusting science like making fake vomit
    • Creating fruit and vegetable juices that heal
    • Learning about our bodies essential vitamins and minerals
    • Discover how to take care of our bodies
    • Create charts and research projects

    Come along and explore the insides and outsides of ourselves…the Good, the Bad and the Ugly

    Some form of technology (iPad/tablet/laptop) with required apps installed is a must for this class.

     

    Students will produce a workable recycled human body system for display at the Presentation Afternoon for this semester.

    Dates for 2018 Presentation Afternoons are:

  • Teacher: Sarah-Ann Nicholson-Holden

    Classes will be taught by Sarah-Ann Nicholson-Holden from Rainbow Productions. Sarah-Ann is our head teacher bringing with her over 30 years experience teaching all ages and abilities from Primary to TAFE level. She is currently homeschooling two of her three boys aged 12 & 14, while her 15 year old is now successfully studying at TAFE. Sarah-Ann teaches a range of different classes at both venues and is passionate about all her students and assisting them to succeed in whatever they set their mind to! Sarah has a natural bent to bring out the best in all her students!
